In today’s meeting, we had a training about design trends for 2022 and predictions about future trends.
- Dataviz (dynamic and playful infographics)
- Muted tones (color schemes)
- Vintage apothecary (type)
- Eco everything (green/sustainability)
- Iridescence (color schemes, vaporwave aesthetic)
- Modular geo (shapes, bauhaus)
- Moving marks (motion logos)
We also talked about how to price our freelance work. I realized once again that I am not charging enough for my time and worth as someone who has spent time and money to become a designer with a degree. David told us that the gut instinct prices we offered should be tripled. Pricing is hard because it involves a lot of thought about where you stand as a designer in skill, value, efficiency, and knowledge. I suppose I need to value my time and worth more, especially now that I’m almost a college graduate.
